Fundraising
How can I fundraise for The Smith Family this Christmas?
This year, light up education for children in need by setting up your own Giving Tree! Each gift of $30 or more will appear as a gift underneath your tree. Your supporters can choose their own wrapping paper and leave a Christmas message too.
The more gifts under your tree means more opportunities being given to Australian children in need to create brighter futures.

This is the perfect way to celebrate the end of the year whilst also giving back to those who have been doing it especially tough this year.
Does The Smith Family have any resources I can use to promote my fundraising efforts?
How do my supporters get a receipt for their donation?
Donations of $2 or more that are made online will receive a tax-deductible receipt via email straight away.
For any donations you've collected in person, please send us an email with the details to givingtree@thesmithfamily.com.au and we will respond as soon as possible.
I/my friend didn't receive their donation receipt. Why is this?
My friend has made a donation to my Giving Tree but it hasn't appeared. Why?
Sometimes supporters will donate to the overarching event rather than to your specific fundraising page, or our site might have experienced a glitch. This is an easy fix though!
Please send us an email with your friends name, donation amount and email (if available) and we will fix this asap.
Can I run a raffle or auction to support my efforts?
Yes, absolutely. Before you get started, we recommend familiarising yourself with the relevant raffle and auction legislation for your state. Please head to your local state authority website to get further information (a Google search is always a great place to start, for example, you can try ' Fundraising Raffles in NSW').
Can I donate physical gifts such as toys, books, stationery or food?
Thank you for thinking of The Smith Family! We unfortunately are not in a position to accept physical donations, but would recommend reaching out to other great causes such as Foodbank or Ronald McDonald House, who may be in a position to accept this generous offer.
My company would like to make a matching donation. How can they do this?
This is always great to hear! Please send us an email at givingtree@thesmithfamily.com.au and we will be in touch to discuss.
