In memory of someone special

Mum had three oft used quotes:

There are two sides to the story and the truth.

Education is the way out of poverty.

Every time she saw the Smith Family ad of the kid walking to school without the proper uniform, she was touched. She grew up in Sri Lanka with 9 siblings. She did not get the education that she - and all children - deserve. She often said she would have liked to become a nurse but she would have ended up running the hospital. She volunteered in the hospital and did catheterisations for disabled patients in her homecare work. I wonder what she could have become with the benefit of the education we all take for granted.
