I’ve decided to take on this challenge with my best mate because we are
determined to make a difference in support of The Smith Family and Hume
Community Housing.
Hume Community Housing is dedicated to providing safe and affordable
housing to those in need. By partnering with The Smith Family, we aim to
enhance our support for our customers by providing their children with the
educational resources they need to succeed.
In Australia, 1 in 6 children and young people are living in poverty
with limited access to the learning essentials they need to thrive at school. I
believe that every child deserves a chance for a brighter future.
To raise funds, I’m embarking on a 5-day, 250km walk from Sydney to
Newcastle. Your support will help provide educational opportunities to Hume
families and their children, empowering them to change their futures.
Your support will help us to keep going during this
challenge and make a life-changing difference to Australian children impacted
by poverty.
By supporting Hume families beyond housing, and connecting them with
educational support from The Smith Family, we aim to achieve:
- Short-Term Outcomes: Improved
literacy and numeracy, confidence, motivation, and school attendance.
- Longer-Term Outcomes: Higher rates
of Year 12 completion, tertiary qualifications, and engagement in
education, training, or work.
Here’s how your donations can make a difference:
- $50 provides essential school supplies for a student.
- $100 funds a term of extra tutoring for a struggling student.
- $500 supports a student's participation in mentoring and enrichment
programs for a year.
We believe in the power of education and stable housing to transform
lives. Support our journey, contribute to our cause, and help us create a
brighter future for disadvantaged children and their families. Your donation,
no matter how small, can make a huge difference.
All donations over $2 are tax-deductible, and you will receive a tax
receipt via email.
