- Initially when I first started this fundraiser page, I aimed to raise $2300 for my 23rd birthday! At the time, this goal felt enormous and was going to be a stretch to meet!
- Recently, I have been blown away by the support I have received from the community and everyone individually. I don't think words can describe how appreciative I am for all the support! So, thank you to everyone for your generosity so far; it hasn't gone unnoticed, and every bit makes a big difference.
- Since the resounding support, I have decided to see how far we can go by making our new goal $4600, doubling our original goal and making the biggest difference we can together!

Why am I doing this?
On my 23rd birthday, I want to raise $2300 by running 100 km for Opportunity. When I say this, some may ask, 'Why?' And I think that is a valid question.
The reason I am doing this is that for the longest time, I have been passionate about opportunity. I personally feel super fortunate for the experiences I have had in my life, and I attribute a lot of that to the opportunities I have been given. Because of this, I wanted to start paying this luck forward, helping to give these opportunities that I had when I was younger to others, doing so by partnering with The Smith Family.
Currently, in Australia, 1 in 6 children and young people are living in poverty, with limited access to the learning essentials they need to succeed at school. I believe education is a cornerstone in the journey of life and ultimately opens up a lot of doors. With this belief, I think that every child deserves a chance to seize this opportunity so that they can thrive now and into their futures.
